In need of a holiday? With the cold winter months coming to an end, many of us need a peaceful break away, but planning where to travel next can be quite difficult. That’s why we’re starting to see more and more people turn to Instagram for inspiration.
Research by Farawayfurniture.com took a look at the most ‘Instagrammable’ villages around the world to help you decide on the perfect holiday escape. The experts accumulated the number of hashtags per village to discover which one is crowned favourite and worthy of visiting.
For Britain, the top two most beautiful villages worth visiting are; Bibury and Staithes.
Coming in first place was Bibury village with over 78,000 hashtags, closely followed by Staithes located in the Scarborough Borough of North Yorkshire.
Both villages hold historic backgrounds, bursting with charm – making them great destinations to visit. They’re also the perfect villages to capture some stunning photographs.
Other villages that appeared on the list include Cinque Terre in Italy topping the global list as the most Instagrammed village – with an incredible 2,049,711 hashtags.
Italy’s Burano village also made the top 5 with over 1 million photos added to the ‘gram’. Indeed, it seems Italy is quite a popular location for village lovers – 15% of the world’s most photographed villages are located here, gaining nearly 4 million hashtags in total (greater than any other country).
