London’s leading River Bus service and river partner of London’s Illuminated River project invites members of the public to experience the latest evolution of the river as London’s cultural destination – from the best way to experience it; the river itself.
Unified light installations across central London bridges have begun with the aim to connect, celebrate and capture the spirit of the River Thames and its diverse communities.
The first four bridges, London, Cannon Street, Southwark and Millennium bridges are now fully lit. MBNA Thames Clippers is partnering with the Illuminated River Foundation to put on a series of guided tours to experience the light installation from the best possible vantage point. City of London Guides and experts from Historic England will give you a unique insight into these great landmarks of London.
Sean Collins, CEO, MBNA Thames Clippers commented: “With this year marking 20 years of Thames Clippers, it is great to be part of the River Thames’ next phase with the arrival of the Illuminated River project. We’re excited to provide these new dedicated boat tours, in partnership with Illuminated River Foundation.”
The new public art installation is to be enjoyed by Londoners, commuters and visitors alike. The tours take place from 29 August 2019 and are available throughout September, to enjoy Illuminated River at its best. The 30 minute evening tours depart from Tower Pier or London Bridge City Pier, depending on tour date.
Tours are £6 per adult, £4.50 concessions; priced as low as possible in order to be accessible for the widest possible audience. For more information or to book tickets please visit www.thamesclippers.com/illuminated-river.
